Oris & Oak
About Oris & Oak
In 2019, David and Teresa Hare purchased nearly 9 acres of the former Smith Farm with the hopes of preserving and growing one of the community’s most iconic landscapes. As longtime Hoover residents, the Hares want to give back to the community that raised their children and grandchildren. In particular, they have an affinity to the Bluff Park neighborhood and love watching it grow and thrive. In 2016, David and daughter Alex opened Bluff Park Ice Cream Shoppe to provide a family friendly atmosphere for customers of all ages to create lasting memories. Their prayer for the property is to create another popular Bluff Park location that fosters fun for families and friends.
In 2023, Hare Farm became Oris & Oak. The new name is a nod to Family: Oris is David’s first name and the name of many Hare men before him; and the Farm: the magnificent oak tree on Savoy is the property’s crown Jewel!
We hope to host unique neighborhood-friendly events such as movie nights, outdoor markets, and festivals that showcase local artists and live music. We also hope to be the ideal location for community members to host their own special occasions like weddings, birthday parties, church gatherings, company celebrations and charity events. We look forward to welcoming you to the farm!
